I love this kind of project...

Tammy and I did the banner for the Belgrade Youth Rally - here's the illustrator concept, I'll put up a picture of how it turned out when I get one taken. Mostly, I'm just hoping it makes it through the weekend without part or all of it crashing down (it's all suspended, mostly held together with tape). Tammy is so awesome, she helped out with all of the cutting (while taking care of the boys) and didn't mind that this project took up all of our weeknights this week.

I'm in Inc!

My idea for a company-wide brainstorm gets an article on it in Inc. Magazine. Woo-hoo!

Her name is Annie Bailey

...and you can see her stuff here.
Which brings up another thing - isn't Etsy awesome?  There is some really great stuff on there.  Sometimes you have to wade in kinda deep to find it, but it's there.

One more, 'cause it's Sunday

Please, visit Despair.com.  It's the perfect site for a Sunday evening.
Now, let's have a good Monday tomorrow...

Here's the current song that's stuck in my head: Tranquilize, by the Killers (featuring Lou Reed, for those of you who find the Killers too poppish).  I love this song.

I am inspired...to rip off another artist.

There's an artist that makes prints and cards for a little art shop in Bozeman called "Tart", and I really like her stuff.  She takes quick line sketches from her sketch book and puts them in a solid color background.  I love the look of it, and decided to do the same thing with some of my sketches.  Here's one of mine to give you the idea - I'll post the artist's name when I get back into the office (where I have one of her cards).

The purpose of this blog.

If you know me at all, you know that I forget or lose stuff all the time.  Names of people (hint: if I ever call you "dude", there's a really good chance I can't remember your name.  This especially applies if you're a girl and I still call you "dude"), where I've put things, when important events took place, etc.  It's gotten worse since I've been married, when Tammy became my crutch for remembering most things and my natural mental laziness got to stretch and grow to its full potential.  Now I'm ahead of the game if I can find my car in the morning without asking my wife.

But I've learned to live with it - calling everyone unwelcome nicknames and terms of endearment because I can't remember their names, going without whatever it is that I was looking for (iPod, I miss you...), and relying on the patience of my wife when she tells me (again) that my coat is probably hanging up near the front door where it always is.  However, the one thing that really gets me is when I hear or see something that really amazes me - a song, a website, a book - and then forget about it.  That kills me.

And that's really where this blog comes in.  This space is for stuff that I really like and, more importantly, don't want to forget.  I hope you like it too, but, again, it's really more for me than you.  (Hopefully, I won't forget my username and password.)
